1 tbs. olive oil
6 tbs. of unsalted butter
1 large onion, sliced thin
Kosher salt and fresh black pepper
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (I use 90-10)
2 tbs. ketchup
2 tsps. Worcestershire sauce
˝ tsp. onion powder
Rye bread
Sliced swiss cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the olive oil and I tbs. butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the onions and a little salt and cook, until very soft and golden, nearly caramelized, around 25 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and keep warm.
Mix the beef with the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to taste. Form into oblong patties (a little larger than the bread) around a half inch thick. Add butter to skillet and heat until the foam subsides. Add the patties and cook about 2 ˝- 3 minutes to whatever doneness you prefer.
Wipe the skillet out and butter one side of the bread and place it in the skillet. Add a slice of cheese, add patty and onions and top with another slice of cheese and top with the other slice of buttered bread. Cook both sides to a golden brown, around 3 minutes per side. Place on a cutting board and slice diagonal and serve. Patties can be doubled If so desired
