1 pkg yeast dissolved in 1 cup of water 114 degrees
½ C sugar
½ tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
½ C crisco
Vanilla to taste
3 C all purpose flour
2 Tbsp melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water. Stir in sugar, salt and beaten egg. Place shortening in large bowl and pour yeast mixture over the top.
Gradually add flour 1 cup at a time and mix until somewhat sticky dough is formed.
Turn onto floured board and roll out into ¼ inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutter.
Place in greased cookie sheet. Brush with melted butter. Fold over and let rise.
Bake 350 for 15 minutes.
