1lb sage sausage
1 med onion, Chopped finely
1 apple, Chopped
2 celery stalks, Chopped
1 can chicken broth
1 loaf of bread, dried out and broken up
2 eggs
1 small can mushrooms
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a 9×13 pan and preheat oven at 350°. Cook sausage and set to the side. Use grease to sauté onion, apple, and celery. May need a little butter if your sausage is not very fatty. Mix sausage and sautéed ingredients in a bowl. Add bread and mushrooms. Beat eggs and pour over that mixture along with chicken broth. Mix until all ingredients are incorporated. Bake covered for 30 min. Uncover and bake an additional 30 min.

My granny was from up north, so we always had bread dressing for holidays. It's definitely different than the cornbread dressing of the south, but I love it.
