3 Cups of Flour
¼ cup of white sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
¾ cup of shortening
1 ¼ cup of milk

Directions:
Directions:
Heat your oven to 400ºF

1. Mix all of your dry ingredients and your sugar together.
2. Add your shortening and mix together with your fingers until it is a similar texture to breadcrumbs.
3. Add milk and form your dough.
4. Flour your surface and flatten your dough to about 1 inch thickness.
5. Cut with a biscuit cutter or the top of a water glass. Make sure you flour the top of your glass before cutting.
6. Place your tea biscuits on a baking sheet. Take a fork and poke the top of each biscuit a couple of times.
7. If you have any milk left over, you can glaze the top of each biscuit so they get golden brown.
8. Put them in the oven for 20 minutes.
