¾ C uncooked White Rice
2 C milk, divided
⅓ C white sugar
¼ t salt
1 egg, beaten
⅔ C Rasins
1 T butter
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Add rice and stir. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

In another saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups cooked rice, 1 1/2 cups milk, sugar and salt.
Cover over medium heat until thick and creamy 15-20 minutes. Stir in remaining ½ cup milk, beaten egg and raisins. Cook 2 minutes more stirring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. serve warm with nutmeg or cinnamon.

Whenever my grandmother used to visit, I would have her make her rice pudding, it is so good. Now my son has me make it for him. It is a family favorite.
