2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 cup hot water
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine the sugar, butter and eggs; beat together until well combined. Add in the vanilla extract, cocoa powder, flour, baking powder and salt. Start the mixer
and slowly add in the hot water while the mixer is going (if you pour it in too fast, the eggs will start to cook).
Spray a 13 x 9 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and evenly pour in the brownie batter. Place baking dish into the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Take the brownies out of the oven and cool completely. Serve and enjoy!

As I was going through my recipes, I found this one and had to put it in! You used to make them for us when you were still a little girl. What precious memories!
(I never noticed it wasn't just great grandma--but great great grandma!) It must be a super recipe, to go back that far!
