2 cups of sugar
⅛ tsp. salt
2 egg whites room temperature
½ cup water
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Boil five minutes covered
Then uncover and boil to 245 degrees on candy thermometer (which is firm ball stage) watch thermometer carefully.
Pour over stiffly beaten egg whites.
Beat constantly.
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla, and beat until stiff.
Shape into balls. Drop on wax paper.
