1 ⅓ cups sugar
2 T. flour
3 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. corn meal
1 tsp. lemon juice
3/4 stick butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º
Mix all ingredients and pour into unbaked a prepared pie crust.
Bake for 35 minutes till set and top begins to brown slightly.

Granny note: Sometimes you have to cover the top with foil or a pie pan to keep from browning too much.

They say that Chess Pie was the translation for a Southerner saying "Just Pie!" when asked what kind of pie this was. "OH it is Just Pie!"
