Mom/Grandma Eileen's recipe

2 c. whole wheat flour
2 c. white flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. dark corn syrup
2 c. sour milk
1 egg, beaten slightly
1 c. walnuts, chopped
1/2 pk. dates, cut fine

Stir thoroughly all dry ingredients together. Beat egg slightly, add syrup, sour milk, dry ingredients, nuts and dates. Mix thoroughly. Put in 2 greased loaf pans and let stand 15 minutes. Bake 1 hour at 350º.
