"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

3 Tbsp Butter, Softened
3½ to 4 Cups Flour

Directions:
Mix warm water or milk with yeast. Then add sugar, salt, egg and butter.
Slowly mix in flour until you have a nice dough. Knead it a few times, make sure everything is mixed in. Dough should not be too sticky. Roll it into a ball and set it in a greased bowl. Put somewhere warm and let it sit 45 minutes to 1 hour. Dough should be almost doubled in size.
Grease a baking sheet and divide dough into 12 rolls. You can make less or more depending on how big you want them. Cover your sheet and let rolls sit another 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350º
Bake rolls for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Personal Notes:
I've made these rolls 5 or 6 times now and they get better every time. The first time I made them they came out like hockey pucks, flat and dense but they tasted good. The more I learned about how the dough should look, adding a little more or less flour, letting the dough rise in a warm spot....you just kind of learn as you go. If you follow the recipe and let your dough rise, it's pretty much fool proof. For me, it's just learning as I go. You really can't mess this one up. Enjoy!! This one is a keeper.
