2 cups flour
½ cup sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp cinnamon
dash of grated nutmeg
2 T melted butter
½ cup milk
1 egg, beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients, add butter
Add the milk to the egg and combine mixtures
Knead lightly
Roll lightly on a well floured board ¼ inch thick
cut with doughnut cutter
Heat 3 or 4 inches of fat to 360º to 375º
Fry a few doughnuts at a time, turning them often until they are browned on both sides
Drain
