Personal Notes:
This dish was named "egg thing" by our kids when I first made it one Christmas back in the 80's. I found it in one of those small holiday cookbooks at the checkout aisle of the grocery store. After I made it for the first time, the kids insisted we have it for Christmas brunch every year. That tradition carried on over the years and they now make it for their families. We also have warm fruit and coffee cake or rolls with it.
