1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 1/2 c. quick oatmeal
2 c. milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugars, milk, vanilla, and eggs together. Then add flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cream until well blended. Add oatmeal, chocolate chips, and nuts. Roll into 1-inch balls on cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 9-10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Makes 5-6 dozen.
