3 c. white sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
2/3 c. water
2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, corn syrup, and water until "hard ball stage". If you put a small amount into a dish with cold water, it will form a hard ball. (or use a candy thermometer!)
Beat egg whites and salt at speed 8 on your hand mixer for 3 minutes.Pour syrup slowly into beaten whites and continue beating until the mixture forms a peak. Add nuts. Put into buttered pan. Cool completely and cut into fudge pieces

This fudge was a recipe of Grandma "Grace" French. She always made this fudge to sell at the church fair.
