"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 Devil's Food cake mix ( boxed )
1 Golden cake mix ( boxed )
4-6 eggs..depending on what cake mixes require
water
oil
Chocolate frosting..to save time I use canned- milk chocolate flavored..2 cans
1 cup chopped pecans or toasted almonds
1 jar marshmallow creme
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped candied cherries
1 cup flaked, toasted coconut

Directions:
Directions:
.Prepare cake mixes as box directs...use 8" pans...when cooled wrap TIGHTLY in foil and freeze about 4 hours..you want the layers VERY firm, but not rock solid!
Using a sharp bread knife slice each layer in half to become 2 layers....you will need 2 DF & 2 Golden to build EACH cake..the extra layers can be re-wrapped & returned to freezer for later use.
Place 1 DF layer on cake plate...CUT side UP...frost lightly with chocolate frosting, sprinkle coconut over frosting....place 1 Golden layer on the DF layer..CUT side DOWN...VERY carefully heat marshmallow creme < in jar> in microwave JUST until it is pourable...be VERY careful here this stuff burns easily and liquifies easily...pour just enough marshmallow creme on the cake to be able to spread a thin cover...top with chocolate chips..place 2nd DF layer on this..CUT side DOWN...frost with chocolate frosting..sprinkle on the nuts...place last Golden layer on top...again, cut side down...frost this layer & cake sides with chocolate frosting...sprinkle candied cherries on top! Cover the cake and refrigerate until serving time....ENJOY! :)

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Four layers of decadence..NOT for the weak-hearted!! This makes TWO full 4-layer cakes..
