1 cup Crisco solid shortening (if you like them more buttery, use half shortening half butter or margarine)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 TBSP water
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups oats

I add 1/2 cup raisins and 1/2 cup walnuts (more or less your preference.) Can also add dry cranberries

Cream shortening and sugars.

Add eggs, water, vanilla. Mix well.

Sift dry ingredients.

Combine dry and wet ingredients. Add raisins, nuts and or dried cranberries if you like.

Mix well, mixture will be thick.

Cookies set better if you refrigerate for 30 minutes before baking.

Drop spoonfuls on treated or non-stick cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 10 to 15 minutes

Don't overcook.
