1-1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 cups pecan halves

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large heavy saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring gently, until sugar dissolves. Cover and cook over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes to wash down sugar crystals from the sides of the pan. Uncover and cook until soft boil stage (235º), stirring constantly.

Remove from heat, and beat the mixture with a wooden spoon just until it begins to thicken. Working rapidly, drop the candy mixture by tablespoonfuls onto greased wax paper. Let stand until the candy is firm.

Yields 1-1/2 dozen
