4 Golden Delicious apples pleed and cord, leave the bottom of the apple in.

1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

2 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp. salt

1 tbsp. unsalted butter, cut into 4 pieces

Directions:
Directions:
1. Gather all ingredients.

2. Pre heat the oven to 350 degrees.

3. Stir sugar, cinnamon and salt together in a small bowl. Place apples in a 8 inch square baking dish; stuff each apple with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar mixture.

4. top each apple with 1 piece of butter : pour boiling water to a depth of 1/4 inch in the bottom of the dish. Cover with foil.

5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove foil and continue to bake, uncovered, until sugar begins to caramelize and apples are tender when pierced with a paring knife bake 20 to 25 minutes more. Serve warm.

6. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
