In a stock pot add:
2 lb chuck roast 1 stalk celery cut in thirds
1 carrot cut in thirds ˝ an onion cut in half

and enough water to cover meat. Let boil on the stove until the meat is tender. Remove meat and discard vegetables. Let juices cool and scrape off excess fat.
Bring the pot back to boil. Add 2 Tbsp. of beef broth base to juices and along with meat cut up into bite size pieces. Also add:

6 carrots peeled and sliced 2 celery stalks sliced
˝ head of cabbage chopped 3 potatoes peeled and chopped
˝ onion chopped
Let soup simmer until vegetables are tender.
