1 cup Butter, softened
1 ¼ cup Sugar
1 Egg
2 ½ cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
¾ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Nutmeg
⅓ cup Water
Sugar, Raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter; add 1 ¼ cups sugar gradually; beat in egg. Blend in sifted dry ingredients and water. Chill several hours.

Roll about ¼ inch thick on well floured surface; cut with 3 inch round cutter. Place 2 inches apart on untreated cookie sheets; sprinkle with sugar; decorate with 3 or 4 raisins.

Bake at 400º about 10 minutes.

Immediately after baking, move cookies from their baking sheet to a cooling rack with a wide spatula. This prevents over baking and breaking.
