1 c. sugar
¾ c. butter
¼ c. molasses
1 egg
2¼ c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp salt
½ tsp. cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Beat sugar, butter and molasses. Beat in egg until light and fluffy. Set aside. Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and cloves. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix well. Roll dough into 1½ inch balls. Roll balls in sugar to coat. Bake 10-12 minutes.
