1 medium onion, chopped
˝ cup chopped celery
˝ cup margarine
2 cups boiling water
1 t sage
1 T chicken soup base
1 t salt
6 cups dry bread cubes

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté onion and celery in margarine in a large heavy saucepan till clear. Add boiling water, spices, then bread cubes. Simmer for 3-5 minutes. Place lid on saucepan and remove from heat. Let sit for 10-15 minutes and serve.

This recipe has stood the test of time. Great for family gatherings paired up with chicken or turkey. I will make up as many recipes as I need, and freeze in advance of family gatherings. Thaw before reheating in oven.
