Cut Out Cookies


Ingredients:

1 cup margarine (use sticks)
1½ cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla or ½ tsp vanilla & ½ tsp almond
3½ cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine, gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy.
Add 3 eggs one at a time.
Stir in vanilla (or if using vanilla and almond extract).
Sift the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together, mix in to rest of ingredients.
Chill for 3-4 hours, best id made up and let set overnight in refrigerator. Cover with plastic wrap so the dough doesn't get too hard.
Roll out dough to ¼ inch thick. Cut with floured cookie cutters
Bake at 370º F for 6-8 minutes, let cool
Decorate with frosting, sprinkles, etc.
 

Vanilla Butter Frosting


Ingredients:

⅓ cup butter or margarine, softened.
3 cups confectioners' sugar.
1½ tsp vanilla
2Tbsp milk

Directions:
Directions:
Blend butter and sugar together.
Stir in vanilla and milk.
Beat until smooth and spreading consistency.
