½ c. bourbon
¼ stick butter
½ c. chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 c. ketchup
¼ c. lemon juice
3 tbsp. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter. Add onions and garlic and sauté until tender. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes about 1 ¼ cups of all-purpose barbecue sauce. Store in refrigerator. Keeps well.

BBQ is a big deal in Kentucky & Tennessee, the sauce and rubs are as different as the style of BBQ, this one is very good. Remember the alcohol cooks out of these dishes.
