¾ c. soft Shortening
1 c. brown sugar - firmly packed
1 egg beaten
¼ c. molasses
2¼ c. sifted flour
½ tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. @ ginger, cinnamon and cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening, sugar and egg in mixing bowl. Beat until fluffy. Add molasses and beat well. Soft dry ingredients together and add to other mixture, mix well. Chill dough thoroughly. Shape into 1" balls and roll in granulated sugar. Place 2" apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 12- 15 min.
