Vanilla Frosting
6 Tbsps. butter softened
2 ½ cup powdered sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1/3 cup heavy cream
1 tsp real vanilla extract

Chocolate frosting
½ of the vanilla frosting
1/3 cup dark cocoa powder
2 Tbsps. heavy cream

Directions:

Add the room temp butter to a bowl fit for the stand mixer, with a paddle attachment, mix the butter until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. should be pale yellow in color.
Add in the salt and vanilla, mix until combined.
Add in the powdered sugar 1 cup at a time, mix until a thick paste forms and then slowly add in the heavy cream, mix on high for 5 minutes.
Take out half of the frosting mixture and set aside.

To make the chocolate frosting keep half of the vanilla frosting mixture in the stand mixer bowl.
Add the cocoa powder and mix until a solid color comes together.
When that is combined add the extra heavy cream and mix for a few minutes.

Frosting the cookies:
When the cookie base is completely cool frost the side of the cookie that was touching the cookie sheet. Half of the cookie with the vanilla frosting and half with the chocolate frosting

Store in an airtight container, do not stack cookies, they will stick together
