2/3 Cup butter
2 2/3 Cup brown sugar firmly packed
1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks well beaten
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
2/3 Cup boiling water
1 1/2 tsp baking poder
2 2/3 cups sifted pastry flour
2/3 cup thick sour milk
1 1/4 tsp baking soda dissolved in milk
1 tsp vanilla
dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Creme butter and sugar together then add eggs
Dissolve chocolate squared in boiling water
Stir to consistency of think paste then add to butter and sugar mix.
Set aside
Add baking powder and flour together. Alternate with milk and baking soda mix and flour to butter and sugar mix. Add vanilla and salt.

Bake in two 9 in square or round pans in 350 check at 35 min. Remove from the oven when done. Fill and frost with favorite chocolate frosting.
