1/4 cup poppy seeds
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda

Cinnamon mixture:
2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Soak poppy seeds in buttermilk for 2 hours, or more.
Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well. Add vanilla.
Sift together flour, salt and baking soda.
Combine alternately with buttermilk/poppy seed mixture.

Grease a Bundt pan generously.
Combine cinnamon, and sugar.
Pour into bundt pan, alternating batter and cinnamon mixture.
BAKE at 350° for 1 hour.
COOL FOR 5 Minutes and THEN invert pan.
