1/4 cup shortening or cooking oil
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups of flour
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and 1/2 cup sugar. Add egg. Beat well with mixer. Mix other
dry ingredients (except last 1/2 cup of sugar) in a separate bowl.Add liqid
ingredients to dry ingredients. Beat Well with Mixer. Add last !/2 cup of
sugar.Fill to 1/8" below the top level in the bottom plate. Yields 18
donuts.
*can substitute equal amounts of cinnamon or vanilla. (I always used vanilla
instead of nutmeg) Cook in Donut Machine
