Personal Notes:
My Grandma T made these brownies and they are the BEST!! She typically made them with the black walnuts added however, if she knew I was going to be around or she was making them just for me, she would omit the walnuts or save some of the batter before adding in the walnuts since she knew I didn't like them.

I will admit my favorite part of this recipe is the frosting. I jokingly said to my grandma one time that she could just make me a pan of frosting and with the look only a Grandma can give, she said "Sheila, that would be fudge". So I replied, "okay make me a pan of fudge using your frosting recipe"...I found it much funnier than she did!

I was always afraid to attempt making these myself as I didn't think I could live up to her standards. My grandma is no longer with us and I have started making them myself and I think my grandma would be proud. Of course I can't make them without thinking of her.

I was lucky enough that my mom collected recipes in my grandma's handwriting and created a cookbook for me. She also had the recipe engraved on a cutting board for me which hangs proudly on my wall.
