1 tablespoon butter
1 ¼ cups sugar
2 eggs beaten
2 cups honey
5 cups flour
½ teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cloves
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon oil of anise
½ teaspoon crushed cardamom seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, and eggs, then combine the rest of the ingredients. Roll into small balls and bake in a moderate oven about 15 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar. 124 cookies.

Note that a moderate oven is between 350 and 375 degrees F.
