Notes: "The No-Roll Sugar Cookies were my mother's hallmark. Despite her culinary talent, these cookies were of the 'basic and few' ingredients category. She made them often, dispersing them to neighbors and friends, continuing to conceal them from me and my siblings, until others had their share. Eventually the cookies made my mother famous, at least in our small and closely-knit town. She would bake these gems for every occasion, church suppers, school events and local fundraisers. As adults, we enlarged and laminated the recipe, framed it and titled it, 'Peggie Murphy's No-Roll Sugar Cookies.' Most people in town had a copy" - Maureen Dion
