1 c. white Kero syrup
1 c. dark Kero syrup
½ c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. flour
⅓ c. melted butter
4 eggs
1 c. pecans
salt to taste (this does require you to taste the filling!) :-)

Pre-heat oven to 350º.

(Prepare pie shells - *see notes below)

Beat eggs until light, add sugar; put flour in sugar & add both Kero syrups, vanilla, salt, butter and all the nuts last.

Makes a big pie. (Her words when she gave it to me when I was 15 and taking Home Economics in high school!)

Bake about 45 minutes or until it is set firm at 350º.

***Things you need to know that are not included above!***

This will make 2-8 or 9 in. shallow pies or 1-9 in. very deep-dish pie, possibly with a little extra. You can cook any extra in an oven proof glass dish.

You may need to cover the crust edges to keep them from burning.

*Use uncooked "store bought" or homemade pie crusts, just make sure you are careful when filling them to not overflow them!
