1 Cup Butter Crisco
1 Cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Cup Molasses
2 tsp Baking Soda
1 Tbsp Hot Water
5½ to 6 Cups Flour
2 tsps Cinnamon
¼ tsp Ground Cloves
1 tsp Ground Ginger
Pinch Salt.
½ Cup Hot Coffee

Frosting
1 envelope Knox Gelatin
1 Cup Cold Water
1 Cup Sugar
2 Cups 10XX Sugar
½ tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Cream Crisco with sugar. Break eggs into bowl, beat with whisk, combine with creamed mixture.
Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add it with 5½ cups flour, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, salt, and hot coffee. Mix well, using wooden spoon. Dough should be smooth, not sticky. Can add more flour.

Roll out ¼" thick on floured board. Cut with Spam can.
Bake at at 350° about 10-12 mins. until finger doesn't leave a dent. Cool on rack.

Dissolve gelatin in cold water then put in small saucepan and add the white sugar. Bring to a boil on medium heat and cook slowly for 10 minutes.
Combine powdered sugar, baking powder and vanilla in medium bowl. Pour gelatin mixture over powdered sugar.
Beat with mixer until the texture of stiff egg whites.10 minutes.
Frost cookies on back (flat) side.
