Notes: When my two moms, Sam and Stacy, moved in together, they had different tastes in food. Sam was great at cooking southern-style dishes, but sometimes her food was too plain or fried for Stacy.
One Christmas, something special happened. Grandma gave Sam a fantastic gift—a cookbook with lots of recipes. Inside, there were many recipes that Stacy loved. But the best one was Grandma's Green Chili.
Grandma's Green Chili was famous and thought of as the best by many, and only Grandma knew how to make it just right. But that Christmas - Grandma decided to share her secret recipe with Sam showing her acceptance of her new daughter-in-law. She even helped Sam cook it the first time to make sure it was perfect.
Grandma had never told anyone else outside our family how to make this special chili. So now, when Mommy Sam makes that yummy green chili in our kitchen, it's a reminder that Grandma loves and accepts our family. It's not just food; it's a symbol of the love our family has for each other.
