½ cup shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
¼ cup milk
1½ cups oatmeal
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup sugar
¼ cup honey
¼ cup raisins
1¾ cups flour
½ teaspoon allspice
½ teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg, honey, and milk. Cream until mixture is light and fluffy. Soak raisins in hot water (enough to cover) for a few minutes. Drain well. Combine raisins with oats and add to creamed mixture. Sift flour with dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Mix until well blended. Drop 3 inches apart (about ¼ cup per cookie). Flatten cookies slightly (to about 4-inch diameter). Bake on 3rd shelf i oven at 350º for 12-15 minutes.
