1/2 Cup of shortening
1/2 Cup of firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp of vanilla
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1 1/2 Tbsp of buttermilk
1 Cup of all purpose flour
1/4 tsp of ground allspice
1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 pound of white raisins
1/2 pound of chopped, candied cherry's
1/2 pound of chopped, candied pineapple
1/2 cup of all purpose flour
1/2 pound of chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the shortening and sugar; beat in the eggs and add vanilla. Dissolve the baking soda in buttermilk.

Combine 1 cup of flour and spices and add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.

Beat well after each addition

Coat the chopped fruit with 1/2 cup of flour; stir the fruit and nuts into the batter

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet

Bake at 350* for 10-15 minutes
