2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoon molasses
1½ teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon nutmeg
1½ teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cloves
1 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Mix cream, sugar and shortening together. Add egg and molasses. Add dry ingredients and mix together throughly. Shape into small balls (quarter size). Dip in sugar. Place sugar side up on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 375º for 10~12 minutes.
