2 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
1 c. lard
pinch of salt

1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 scant tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix brown sugar, flour, lard and salt with a fork until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup crumbs.
To the rest, add egg, buttermilk, vanilla, cinnamon and soda. Mix thoroughly with a fork and place in a 9x13 pan. Sprinkle the 1 cup of reserved crumbs on top with a little cinnamon. Also, add 1 cup chopped nut-meats on top.

Bake at 350º until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, approximately 25-30 minutes.
