10 large or 12 medium ripe peaches (or 1 quart when pulverized or mashed)
2 cups sugar
juice of ½ lemon
¼ t. almond extract
1 quart half and half cream



Directions:
Directions:
Peel and mash/grind/pulverize very ripe peaches, add sugar, lemon, and almond extract. Stir in cream. Pour into container of ice cream freezer. Freeze until mixture begins to harden and motor begins to labor. Open and remove dasher, leaving container still in freezer, add ice cream freezer salt and more ice. Pack down, cover to "ripen." Should be ready to eat in 2-3 hours.

This recipe is from Rachel Fowlkes' mother, Mrs. John Davis of Meridian, MS. When Carol, Donna, Robert, and Sarah visited Rachel's family at their lake house, Mrs. Davis, "Grandma" served peach ice cream each evening after dinner.
