1- 14 oz can condensed milk
Cookie Dough:
1 c. salted butter, softened 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 t. almond extract 2 c. all-purpose flour (270 g) 3/4 c. powdered sugar pinch of salt
Finishing:
1/4 c. powdered sugar for sprinkling

Directions:1. Take label off condensed milk can. Place is deep saucepan and cover can with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook on a simmer for 3 hours. Refrigerate can over night. This is your dulche de leche filling.
2 Preheat your oven to 325° F. 3. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. 4 Beat the butter in a medium bowl with until creamy. 5. Mix in the vanilla and almond extract until incorporated. 6. Add the flour, powdered sugar, and pinch of salt and begin to mix. The mixture will be VERY crumbly and will seem dry, keep mixing it will come together. 7. Form into a 1 1/2 in diameter log and refrigerate until solid. 8. Slice into 1/4 inch thick slices. 9. Place on parchment baking sheet and bake approximately 12 minutes or until bottom is just starting to get brown. 10. Let cool completely. 11. Place dulche de leche filling between two cookies to make a sandwich. 12. Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar |
