1 1/2 c flour
2 TBsp unsweetened cocoa
1/2 tsp each baking powder and soda
1/8 tsp salt
1 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c shortening
2 eggs
3/4 tsp vanilla
1/2 c Herman
1/2 c chopped nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour cocoa, baking powder and soda and salt set aside.. In large bowl, mix sugar shortening ,eggs, vanilla and starter. Stir in flour mixture and nuts until well blended. Drop by tsp on greased cookie sheets Bake 350 for 8-10 mins

Remove to racks to cool... frost or garnish as desired.
