Preheat the oven to 350°

Grease a 9" x 13" baking pan

1 14oz. Package of Caramels
1/3 cup Evaporated milk


In a heavy sauce pan, (double boiler) melt the above 2 ingredients over low heat; keep warm.


1 2-layer Devil's Food Cake Mix
1 1/2 sticks Butter, melted
1/3 cup Evaporated Milk
1 1/2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips


Combine the cake mix, butter, and the evaporated milk in a large bowl.

Stir until the dough begins to stick together. Press 2/3, of the mixture into the prepared baking-pan. Bake 6 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and cover the brownie layer with chocolate chips. Spoon the melted caramels over the chocolate chips.


Be sure to keep the caramel away from the sides of the pan.


Press the remaining dough mixture over the caramel layer.


Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until done.

Cool completely and cut into squares.
