Preheat oven to 350°

Line a 13" x 9" baking pan with foil and grease the foil.


1 2-layer German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 1/2 sticks Butter, softened
2/3 cup Evaporated Milk


Combine the cake mix, butter, and the milk in a large bowl. Beat at low speed until well combined. Press half the mixture into the prepared pan.


Bake 10 minutes.


1 14 oz. pkg. Caramels
1/3 cup Evaporated Milk
1 cup Pecans, chopped
1 cup Chocolate Chips


Combine the caramels and the milk in a double boiler. Cook over simmering water until the caramels are melted, stirring frequently. Pour over the hot baked mixture. Spread the remaining cake batter. Sprinkle with the pecan and chocolate chips.

Bake 20 minutes. Remove to a cooling rack.


When completely cool, invert and carefully remove the foil. Cut into squares when ready to serve.
