1-1/4 c. Water, boiling
1 c. Quick Oatmeal
1/2 c. Butter, softened
1 c. Sugar, granulated
1 c. Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 Eggs
1-1/2 c. Flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking Soda
3/4 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg





ICING
1/4 c. Butter, melted
1/2 c. Brown Sugar
3 T. Light Cream
1/2 c. Pecans or Walnuts, chopped
3/4 c. Coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over cup of oatmeal. Set aside and let stand for 20 minutes.

Beat butter until creamy. Gradually beat in sugars.
Blend in vanilla and eggs.
Stir in oats mixture.
Sift flour, salt, baking soda and spices. Add to creamed mixture; blend well.
Pour batter into greased and floured 9" square baking pan.

ICING
Combine butter and sugar in a saucepan until melted. Add all other ingredients, stirring until well blended. Spread over cake. Broil until bubbly. (You can substitute milk for the light cream.)
