2½ cup sugar
½ cup Karo syrup
½ cup water
2 egg whites
chopped walnuts (optional)


Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, water and syrup until it will spin a thread.
Pour one-half syrup mixture over stiffly beaten egg whites.
Boil remaining syrup until it forms a hard ball in water.
Pour over egg white mixture.
Beat until cold and creamy.
Drop by spoonful on buttered dish or waxed paper.

Grandma made divinity at Christmas every year. She made some with walnuts and some without. She never made this in wet weather.
