Granny's Chicken Cornbread Dressing Recipe

Ingredients: 4 (7 oz) cans white chicken, chopped w/juices 1 box Stovetop stuffing 1 pkg Martha White cornbread mix 1 (32 oz carton) Chicken broth 1 large yellow onion, chopped 2 stalks celery, chopped 2 tsps sage salt and pepper to taste

Directions:Preheat oven to 350º F.
Bake cornbread according to pkg instructions in a 9" pan. Set aside. Cook onion in microwave for 30-45 secs. Cook celery in microwave for 30-45 secs. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl with a wooden spoon until well mixed. Add the mixture to a greased 11" x 15" x 2" casserole dish.
Bake for 30-40 mins in the middle rack of your oven until light brown on top.
Serve with gravy and/or cranberry sauce. |

She is one of the best Southern cooks I know, and she knows this is my favorite comfort food and always saves me a plate when she makes it.
