1 lb. (4 sticks) butter, softened
6 egg yolks
1 c. evaporated milk
6 c. flour
confectioners sugar (for sprinkling)

For Filling:
1/2 lb. nuts
2 c. granulated sugar
6 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter and egg yolks in mixer until fluffy; add evaporated milk.
Add flour and mix with hands.
Cover with waxed paper and refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and refrigerate covered at least 3 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
To make filling, beat egg whites and sugar until it makes peaks. Grind nuts, add to mixture. Stir in softly. Roll each ball of dough out as thing as possible on floured board. Put 1 tsp. filling in center of each circle. Fold in half, bend open end over, turn down corners to form crescents. Put seem side down on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake until lightly browned, about 10 or 15 minutes. Sprinkle on both sides with sifted confectioners sugar. Store in cans. Refrigerate if necessary.
