Ingredients:  
3¼ c flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp salt

Mix together dry ingredients above.

Cream together:
⅔ c sugar
1 c brown sugar
1¼ c shortening
2 eggs
1½ tsp vanilla

Mix together dry ingredients and creamed mixture. Mix In:

1 c shelled walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Form dough into 2 in log. Refrigerate for 4 hours. Slice and bake cookies. Dough can be kept in fridge for up to two weeks.

Bake at 400º for 5-8 minutes.

Chocolate Cookies - melt 4 squares of unsweetened chocolate and cool with eggs. Add to mixture. Omit nuts.
