1 cup butter
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup light brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2¾ cup flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter.
Add sugar, vanilla, and eggs, one at a time and beat until light.
Add sifted dry ingredients and nuts.

Chill for about 2 hours.

Shape into loaves 2 inches square.
Wrap in waxed paper, and chill overnight.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Slice ⅛ thick.
Bake on cookie sheet for 6 to 8 minutes.

Remove to wire racks while hot.
